
Dr Peter L Cokkinias, Music Director
Clarinetist and conductor, Dr Peter L. Cokkinias is a native of Springfield, Massachusetts, and was educated in Hartford, New York City, and Cincinnati where he received his Doctorate of Music at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. His principle conducting teachers have been Thomas Schippers, Richard Lert, Boris Goldovsky, Andre Previn, Leonard Bernstein, and Seiji Ozawa. Prior to this season he was conductor of the Greater Marlborough Symphony Orchestra for twenty-five years and an active freelance musician in the Boston area. Presently he is on the faculty of the Berklee College of Music. He performed as a clarinetist and saxophonist with the Boston Ballet Orchestra, Boston Symphony and Pops and the Boston Lyric Opera and is an active music educator throughout New England.
